Looking to make something usable out of my shed and was thinking that some kind of fold-away workbench would be good (thinking like a foldaway bed) so I can lift it out of the way then drop it down when working (ideally with shelving too).

Just looked on Screwfix but couldn't see anything.

Something like this?

Thinking of getting one myself

I haven't seen anything like you describe but if you could lash something together like a beauro it could work. Don't know how robust it would be in comparison to a proper work bench but it could give you somewhere to work on stuff.

Make something that operates like a drop leaf table (i.e. top hinged on wall, fold out legs underneath).

It's never going to be super sturdy, but it should do the job for general stuff.

that's what I did in my last garage. The new one's big enough for a proper bench

A man's workbench in his garage is a very precious thing indeed.

Vince in that video looks a bit OCD. He'd never cope in my garage....

I've used these. Clicky along with some Wisadeck board.

Drill to a wall and it'll work a treat.

Yeah - was down at my brother's using his workbench at the weekend and I am very envious and it has re-ignited my passion to sort my tip out.

I'm gonna build a bench in my shed when I have built the wood store for all the wood occupying it currently.

A nice solid old door with decent hinges would do that, I reckon
