I ask as I am likely to be in that vicinity for a few nights next week without my bike and don't want to get bored.

Head out to the Bush in Ovington. Great pub!
Cathedral is wonderful if you like architecture etc.
Military museums in the old Peninsular barracks are interesting (and the buildings now converted into flats amazing)
Nice walks down on Winnal moors & St Catherines hill if the weathers good
Some great pubs, but a few years since I frequented then - used to be the Exchange was great for food, and the old vine was fantastic for Ale, might have changed now though.
I recommend the Black Boy for beer and food.
Use it as a place to gather your thoughts and ask yourself " Do I really want to go to Southampton ? "
Could you pop in on my parents and clear up all my crap in the loft they keep going on about it.
