Allows a user to trace their finger over a map to find a distance?

not until we have android/iOS fingers.
apps to let you plan a route via the screen of your phone/tablet and tell you the distance of your route are available though.

Shouldn't be too difficult to develop something if it's a touch-screen interface, but I've not seen such a thing.
