Is there a name for that, very particular but crushingly hopeless, feeling you get when it's a beautiful day outside but circumstances prevent you from doing anything other than gazing longingly out of the window, wishing you could be outside in the sunshine?

We've all had that feeling...... you know what I'm talking about 🙁

It's like Seasonal Affective Disorder but in reverse?

It must be called something?

Could be work, could be incapacity , could be a myriad of other reasons which prevent you from going outside and doing stuff but there's a unique kind of unhappiness that stems from being kept inside whilst the sun shines.

It needs a name.

I've never felt a crushingly hopeless feeling because for whatever reason I'm not able to ride a bike.

However I do wish 5pm would hurry along as I'm really looking forward to a 20 mile ride home in the sunshine with a strong tailwind.

The Malvern Flower Show. Travelled 150 miles to be bored senseless looking stalls selling Velcro shoes and leather hats while gazing at the hills bathed in bright sunshine.

There is such a thing as summer seasonal depression which is caused by too much sunshine, but you won't be suffering from it if you are "gazing longingly out of the window, wishing you could be outside in the sunshine" - the reverse would be true.

Her Majesties Pleasure?

Iron Lung?

I'm sure Anne Frank would have had a name for it.
