Yup, 'fraid its another of those oo-er, am I ok asks.
Bound to be clearer info that general google sicky search 😆

Heath is middling currently, could be better, but 25 years constant riding(no car) has left a few benefits. - A new underlying conditions recently discovered. inquiry as to sore lower leg reveals build up of plaque, narrowing the femoral. Its annoying, but oddly riding doesnt really effect it, unless im going over 10ml, and i think thats a lactic acid thing.

What has been troubling is sweating profusely when doing other exercise for example working in the garden or workshop, and its mostly from the head, rather than whole body, with the tendency to quickly overheat and feel nauseous.
Of late, and this is likely over a number of months, im waking middle of the night, pillow soaked, hair soaked, and sometime sick. I've been putting that down to maybe something like an asthma attack, as ive had a couple of these recently, and the effects of that are very similar, with sweating heavily(panic) during.
I do have an underlying blood condition. Its an elevated white count, or of one of the specific white cells. Called Leukemia something, but not leukemia leukemia, I've been given an all clear on that ( Actually I didn't even know I was in the running till they told me 😆 My blood has this aspect about it, but have stressed that this is apparently normal.

At the moment this is a bit different, Been about 4 days, out shopping on the bike, had a snack then off and started to feel sick, i put that down to the large snack/heat, riding, so let it pass continued on, and later at home went to bed.
Next day im feeling nausea, this sweating from the scalp and a general shitty feeling.
There were no aches or sore throat or coughing, though I do have that smokers cough, which oddly has dried up, so i was hopeful if wasnt this corona virus, and i'd had this waking up sweating, vomiting thing, so nausea is something i can deal with, this seems to be in waves.
Anyway, off to bed and ext day the same hot/cold virus type thing , but I reckoned i'd been sleeping in a bad position, as i awoke with really sore neck, shoulder and a pain in the center left side.
I've had a couple of bouts of pneumonia and mild hypothermia, and the left side is a bit scarred, so again use to having a niggly pain in the area under the scapula area.

I guess someones likely to suggest 'Heart' here, but with the other old man illnesses of a well varied life, is there anything else I should be looking at.
Sometimes i do sleep funny, and for a number of days have a sore neck/back/shoulder, and i've a habit of overly thinking things and worrying about them.
And again last night, about 3am im up, soaked head, pillow and a bit of a temperature, OK now, not so much of the sicky feeling.

No specific chest pains, nothing extending down my left arm, but I gather thats the type of pain thats really sore, so cannot be mistaken for anything else. Though again, ive no idea or what is or isnt a symptom of impending heat attack.

If anyone has any medical experience or has had similar symptoms please feel free to share. All info is good.

Obviously I dont want t0 think heart, so the hot/slight chill/nausea etc could just be a mild virus with poor timing.

A great many of those symptoms could be associated with heart issues. Doesn't mean it is, but get checked out ASAP. With your underlying condition, if it is Covid-related, finding out sooner could definitely be an advantage.

Having a chat with 101 would be a good option right now.

IANAD

However, there are many possible "causes" of night sweats and lethargy, and some are of the scary variety, some infectious and plenty that are pretty much trivial

Given your history of various significant-sounding conditions I would suggest you seek the advice of someone who IS a doc and can tell you which, if any, is causing your symptoms after doing some simple tests

(Is it CML that you have? Chronic myeloid leukaemia)

I am a Dr and I suggest you see one asap. (To be fair my phd in hay meadows may not be entirely relevant but if it makes you see a Dr asap its all good).

Did I mention you should see a Dr asap?

Go see a doc
Night sweats can be caused by probs with adrenal glands on top of your kidneys. I had a few symptoms like you, went to docs and they were looking at something like this:

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pheochromocytoma

It wasn't.
But you do need to see a doc, they'll be happy to see you about it.
I wouldn't be surprised if they do s bit of investigation around your kidneys, blood tests/ CT scan for me.

To be clear, you can see any Dr, not just Dr Asap.

Well, not Dr Hay Meadows over there, either. 🙂

well thanks for all the replies thus far. It is worth giving nhs 24 a ring, ill do that now and they'll have access to my current medical record so might be able to best diagnosis from that info and any possible changes.

A phone call to my local surgery currently has them telling all just to contact nhs24.

Again thanks.

Aye, the , i think they call it EEG, tests the heart.
Problem is due to the Tory party, the only hospital I can be checked for that is about 9 miles away, and ive only the bike. If I present myself at the hospital near me, they might say make your own way due to the virus, or if they can still lay on transport to the main hospital, but then I'd be there alone with no way to get back easily.
All I can do is leave it till tomorrow morning when more are available 😕
NHS24 is supposed to be an emergency only thing if no other options, and given the surgery is shut, tomorrow or put everyone to a load of hassle.
All i can do is try to best manage the temp with paracetamol.

Thanks.

Night sweats = red flag. As above see your GP, they will be happy to see you.

999 is for emergencies - 111 (or equivalent) is for urgent queries. It's the equivalent of an out-of-hours GP service. Your situation is exactly what they're there for. If they say 'just make a routine appt with your GP', that's not the end of the world.

If you're reporting a temperature, chances are you'll get lumped in for Covid testing anyhow.

I’d be ringing 101

How will the police help?

My experience of NHS 111 is that it's primary purpose seems to be to reassure people who "don't want to bother anyone" that they should go see a doctor. So cut out the middleman and go see a doctor.

Righto, done the above, and got a call back from a Dr.

If you’re reporting a temperature, chances are you’ll get lumped in for Covid testing anyhow.

They appear only to see any temp increase to be a sign of covid, and as such ask i get tested, and until such to remain isolated.
Did take a short walk out around the block, and came back with pretty much full on flu symptoms, full body sweating and completely shattered. But this subsided within 10 mins and back to the slight elevated temp and occasional sweaty brow. So for me at least im fine, but any exertion is quite debilitating.
Got to book a test, although I'm staying positive its something else, and related to the white count thing.

Time to wait and see.
Cheers.

Sounds like you’ve started the menopause, can last for years…

'Dyna' although a girls name is from my retrobike membership as i'd a Raleigh Ti dynatec at the time.
whats done is done though, and gone is the chance of a decent username 😆
