There seem to be a lot of suggestions on what to post on Facebook these days. It just has the feeling that Facebook thinks it knows me better than I know myself.
It's getting a bit to intrusive or am I being over sensitive?

I ignore FB in the main so why not do the same if you consider it intrusive?

Does this mean that Facebook isn't amazed or surprised with what happens next on all those videos!

There's a reason FB does what it does, but "it's complicated".

Hey! I noticed you haven't looked at your Facebook app for 30 minutes? Do you know *insert random loser with no mutual friends here*?

Yup it's getting more and more obtrusive, trying to drive activity and justify charges to advertisers, including "accidentlally" overstating how many views videos had had. Also with the recent data sharing with WhatsApp (declined by me but option was hidden) they will have been harvesting more phone and email contacts to cross ref. As an example I had a call with an old colleague last week and the next day he came up as a friend suggestion, now I share nothing with facebook but a he had my mobile I assume he shares contacts with fb and added me to his address book, fb can then find my profile via mobile number.

Just turn all settings to "friends only" and disable the adverts. It's all there in the settings.

When that happens click the little 'v' on the right and click the option to not show you the message again

I'm quite amused by the pages it suggests I might be interested in. It hasn't got one right yet.

Facebook once suggested I might like Coldplay. I nearly shutdown my profile in disgust.
