Exactly. This is entirely about disenfranchising voters, nothing to do with improving elections.
Although amusingly in the UK after the tories used it they found it actually ****ed their voters over more.
Lets hope it works the same in the USA.
What’s wrong with requiring ID to vote? Seems sensible to me.
I agree if everyone has easy free access to an ID card, they do here. When looking through the acceptable ID to vote in French elections I was amused to see "hunting permit".
The thing about identiy needing your maiden name penalising women happens in the UK. A woman I know met an administrative brick wall it took months to climb over because the married name on her passport doesn't match the name on her NI records. Fortuneately Madame kept her maiden name on all important documents.
