Not withstanding both are 'too much' which would you recomend for a 10yr old.

I know they are not quite the same, and the netbook isn't a camera but....

To be used for online games / net browsing / car journey viewing /some homework perhaps etc etc

I was thinking the IPodtouch would be easily lost, whereas a wee netbook might stand a chance of being looked after ?

Any thoughts ??

I would think the netbook.
Less likely to be stolen at school.
could be used for homework
more scope for apps....

From experience, they'll lose the iTouch - whereas the Net Book is more likely to be left at home, and just get broken...

My 5 yr old daughter is getting an iPod touch. She is always on mine and the wifes iPhones so she can have all her games on it, loads of talking books (Inc all Harry potter) and she's starting to listen to music so we dint have to worry about scratched CDs. Plus I can sell her DS as games are about 20% of the price for the iPod.

Netbook, less likely to be smuggled to school. I'm considering a fairly kid-proof Samsung NB30 for my 10yo. The 13yo is having an iTouch.

My 12 year old son loves his touch (ditto me loving mine). Likes all the free or very cheap games (apps) you can get for it (but also lots of free web games you can play on a netbook). Comes down to size.

My 10 yo has a Touch, bought it with his own birthday money so the preciousness hasn't worn off. He uses it for the free game downloads, music, bit of simple surfing. Does his homework etc on one of the laptops in the house.
