Maybe something to do with sign in? Was forced to register on BBC site this evening.

Just in case anyone else has this, just had the following from the iPlayer webmonkeys,
try removing the app, turn off Wi-Fi, restart the device, turn on Wi-Fi and reinstall the app.
This worked.
