I've got an iPhone which currently has software version 3.0.1 software. I'd like to update the software to 3.1.3, but iTunes will only update to 4.0.2 which I've heard can really slow down the 3G. Any idea on how I can only update to 3.1.3?

Thanks!
Ben

I'm on OS4 and it does kill the 3G by default. You can turn off all the Spotlight search functions, which helps quite a bit but doesn't alleviate the issue entirely. FWIW I also had slowing issues with the more recent 3.XX versions so might be worth sticking with what you have. Apparently the 4.1 release in September ish time will help a lot with speed on the 3G.

Cheers CP. It's just annoying as there's a couple of apps I want that need 3.1.3 to work.
