I've noticed a few companies are now selling USB/Lightning flash drives for iPhones/iPads.

Looks like you can transfer stuff from the phone onto the drive, and either keep it there or transfer onto a computer via the USB connector.

I'm particularly interested in this for GoPro footage whilst on holiday - transfer via wifi to phone, rudimentary edit/shorten, delete the cr*p and then save onto the flash drive.

Anyone got one?

Hmmm, bit more digging suggests it'll only transfer pics and video from the camera reel, not from 3rd party programs like GoPro Capture 🙁

Can you not save from the Go Pro app to the camera reel?

Have gopro managed to sort the supply of their own lightening adapter yet? - It would appear not. What a crock.

Otherwise can't you export the gopro clips to the camera reel and then move it across?

Wouldn't you be better off just buying an extra memory card for the GoPro?

Also the may have changed it with later iterations of GoPro, but from my GoPro to iPad via wifi takes about a year to copy anything. I have an SD card to iPad thing which is faster. Also puts the video direct to camera roll not the app.

Or some sort of portable hard drive, with wifi? There are some with an SD card slot, so you could copy from the GoPro.

The Gnarbox looks good, though expensive. http://www.gnarbox.com/

I think they have bigger things to worry about than paying for and apple connection licence if it's one of theirs.
Simple answer buy some more sd cards probably works out cheaper and more flexible.

Thanks all. More SD cards is probably the easy way to do it. The iXpand would be handy for Sufferfest vids etc as I use my phone for that on the turbo. Store the vids on the drive to save taking up +10Gb on the phone.

Didn't realise the wifi was so rubbish- I'm fairly new to GoPro stuff so I've only transferred a few 1-2min clips so far
