Is this really as claimed? Basically sounds like some superwood! I'm contemplating using some and wondering if the premium price is worth it? If so, why?

Anyone used some outside? Holding up well? Only for a small decking area over some grids in our garden which need to be accessible.

Any cheap suppliers?

It's a quality hardwood in the same line as Balau or Iroko. What magical powers is it claimed to have?

If it's cheap, then I'd be wondering where it comes from. Though, if anecdotes are to be believed, a lot of it is shipped on forged stewardship certificates anyway. Unbelievably hardwearing timber. Heavy as bejeesus. You'd better have a good saw. Wear a mask when cutting.

This is useful stuff, especially Grunkas link. Thanks.

From reading some about some peoples projects, it sounded like it was indestructible.

I just want a half decent hardwood, pref certified, that's not going to cost the earth. More research needed!

Check out Trada's species database - can search by use / durability / price etc. Might be of use.
