I have an iPad2 (Wifi) that I use mainly for browsing and email, a few games and stuff.

My other half wants one now after I lent her mine for a holiday recently.

So I was wondering, if we got an iPad Mini and I swapped her for my iPad2 would I be losing much other than a bit of screen size.

It would save her a few quid as the Mini is a fair bit cheaper.

I like the idea of a smaller unit, but don't want to lose any functionality really.

Any thoughts from anyone that's used both ??

An iphone and ipad1 owning mate just got a mini and said it's the best size yet.

My boy's got the mini and says he now finds my ipad too big and heavy(!)

Does it do basically everything that the iPad2 can do, just with a smaller display ?

If it does then I think I'm sold.

Mini for all the above reasons.

The display isn't quite as sharp so sure they'll bring out a retina version in a few months...?
Not enough to worry about though.

Thing about Retina is you don't miss it if you don't have it. I have the original iPad 1 and never think 'this is really low res'.

Another vote for the mini here.

Was going to replace iPad 1 with the Nexus 7 as, I really like my android phone.

However, comparing mini against the 7..... No contest for me....... The slightly larger screen seems just right, despite the premium apple charge...
