Not intended to be seen as that but I do understand the question in your response.
I was suggesting maybe a little credit to them for doing something constructive albeit with limitations

When I worked at The Bike Chain in Edinburgh we'd commute carrying a spare (boxed) set of lights so we could hand them to anyone who didn't have any. Have you heard the phrase "you couldn't give them away"?
