Hi
I am part of a team of 4 that are walking 100k over the South Downs this weekend for Oxfam as part of this
I am the team captain and there are doubtless going to be some tough moments, had anyone got any motivational matras or phrases that I can use as part of a Churchill-esque inspirational rally.
Obviously MTFU is already on the list
"The finish is just around the next corner."
Repeat as necessary.
Inspitational
I'm inspitated already.
Keep it up.
Get on with it you ****less c***s, it's only walking.
Helpful?
"Just think of all the people you'll be letting down if you don't complete this event".
'nut up or shut up'
'pain is weakness leaving the body'
'we shall fight them on the beaches'
I don't want no teenage queen...
I have in my hand a piece of paper...
*runs off into the bushes*
'It's hardly the Bob Graham round - GTFOWI!'
Think of all the starving in Kenya.....
"pain is weakness leaving the body" - brilliant
^^ thisGet on with it you ****less c***s, it's only walking
^^ and thispain is weakness leaving the body
Or my personal favourites 'not far now' and/or 'we're over halfway'
Stop whining and I'll buy you a lolly when we get to the end.
(works on my kids)
How about some motivational questions?
"Would you mind walking a little less noisily?"
"Do you have to breathe through your mouth like that?"
"Can't you keep your mouth closed when you are chewing on that power bar?"
Have a look at Al Pacino's inspirational speech from Any Given Sunday for something really blood curdling...
Morning team!!!!!!! (boom it out)
Walking is like wrestling a gorilla. We only stop once the gorilla has sore feet, woof!
Who wants a biscuit?
one foot in front of the other.. and repeat
Whiskey. Promise them whiskey and as good a seeing to as you can manage, should have them dancing along.
When you walk through a storm
Hold your head up high
And don't be afraid of the dark
At the end of the storm
There's a golden star (sky)
And the sweet silver song of a lark
Walk on...
Through the rain...
Walk on...
Through the rain
Walk through the wind
And your dreams be tossed and blown...
Walk on... (walk on)
Walk on... (walk on)
With hope (with hope)
In your heart...
And you'll never walk alone
You'll never walk alone.
Alone...
Walk on... (walk on)
Walk on... (walk on)
With hope (with hope)
In your heart...
And you'll never walk alone
You'll never walk alone.
Alone...
You'll never...
You'll never walk alone...
Walk on... (walk on)
Walk on... (walk on)
With hope (with hope)
In your heart...
And you'll never walk alone
You'll never walk alone.
Alone...
You'll never walk...
You'll never walk alone...
can I post up the words to 19 PLEASE
N-n-n-n-n-n-n-no
The only speech you will ever need in life is this one.
See that bit over there? (point) it's just over that bit!
(get to the bit)
no, I meant that bit over there (point)
just keep repeating this really enthusiastically 'till your walking chums batter you with their Nordic walking poles and thermos flasks.
"you wanna watch where you're steppin' round here boy..."
