I've just checked in online for a flight tomorrow and discovered that I've been given the title of Mr (I'm female)

Anyone know if this is likely to be a problem? Better to try and sort it out now or hope for the best at the airport

(Airline is TAP)

Airline is TAP

And you're worried about the name on the ticket? 😉

Give them a call, am sure it's pretty easy to sort out.

I've always assumed the name on the ticket needed to match the name on the passport. Just an asssumption though.

I'd check with the airline.

Passports don't have titles though so you'd never get a match between ticket and passport if you included the title.

The passport does say if you're male or female though. If the ticket impies you're a man by using Mr. in your title and your passport says you're a woman, it may be a problem. They may not care, but I wouldn't risk it without checking with the airline first.

It's not the sort of thing you want to be sorting out at the airport.

It's not an issue. Happened several times.

wear a boiler suit and draw on a moustache (best use a black biro, or red if you're a ginger).

Call them. Or wait for it to be a problem at some point...

Airlines can be a pain in the bottom, easier to just alter your passport.

Just realised you are on Air Portugal.

Based upon my many visits to Portugal, a false moustache would just make you look like a Portuguese lady 🙂

I know someone who was advised by a member of staff at a British Embassy that the simplest solution was for him to get the name on his ticket changed when he pointed out that the replacement passport they'd issued him had his name spelt incorrectly...
