Recently, since OSX Sierra I think, the speaker volume on our iMac has been low, it's set to maximum but even at full volume it's heck of a lot quieter than it used to/ should be. Has anyone else come across this and if so how did you fix it?

Does boosting sound in vlc to say 200% make a difference?

Some apps have their own volume control.

As above is it app specific or everywhere ?
