Right ok,
as most of you know im a fat bastard and have wanted to lose a good few stone for a while now.

so about a month and half ago i was posted with work to the falklands for 4 months .

since ive been here i have been hitting the gym and swimming pool hard, i mean most nights im doing an hours cardio and then a mile in the pool.

in the first 5 weeks ive dropped roughly 6.5 kgs so now im down to 17.5 stone, the trouble is i seem to have hit a wall and im not losing anymore despite doing even more gym work??

also im starting feel knackered all the time and have lots of aches and pains for excersizing .

any suggestions on what im doing wrong?? should i have anight off the gym or is it ok to go everyday??

help !!!

cheers

steve

Check your body fat level. Is it possible that you're building muscle while dropping fat, so you're actually leaner but no lighter?

Are you doing any strength training?
Drop some of the CV for some weights sessions. Weights should increase your resting metabolic rate more than CV does so you'll burn calories when your not exercising. If you split the sessions correctly it should aid recovery too.

I'll let someone else suggest you think about what you're eating.

I'm thinking compound exercises like squats... you use more muscles as well as utilising some of your biggest muscles.

Sounds like you're doing a hell of a lot of things which are essentially CV based. I might be wrong eh? But it's definitely important to shake up your routine to keep shocking your body.

Drop wednesday for a really relaxed session in the pool. Or just take the day off.

Definitely agree about waights upping your metabolic rate, stick to the core movementts like squat, deadlift and bench press. Are you eating enough? If not the body will start to use mucsle as fuel instead of body fat.
