We will be in touch
Well first off its a van i think.
But heres the thing... Its fully buried.
So what is it?
This is the one photo i took but i will probably go back and get to more insides
I am not crawling in though,**** that.
I'll start my bid at something from the 60's looking at that steering wheel.
Mk1 ford transit?
Strong start i reckon.
First clue... I am fairly sure is panel sided like an a35 van rather than a morris minor van with a coachbuilt type box out the back.
Mk1 ford transit?
Nah to small i think.
It is genuinley completey buried not really sure why but the earth has been built up all around with the exception of this window.
Good likeness for the steering wheel, but I would look at the door frame and pillar and discount the Ford.
The steering wheel is all wrong. I am fairly sure its two spokes not three the third thing is a stalk.
Can't see from the picture but is it a 3 spoke steering wheel or a two spoke with a column change (one spoke doesn't looked "connected" in the pic). My old Bedford CA was 2 spoke and column change.
Yeah column change i think. You can see the spokes are almost opposite each other.
I was thinking Bedford CA because of the column change, but the wheel doesn't look right.
The triangular cross section spokes and the way they flare into the rim look like a Commer, but no idea which one.
Commer Express was column shift and those shape spokes. But the centre boss might be wrong / looks like a later Commer.

Again, its quite hard to gauge but i don't think the earth pile is big enough
Was this photo taken in “Shropshire”?
Ford Popular
Oooh do you know... You might be on to something there.
The door shape isalot closer (commer and bbedfords had sliding doors i think?
Shropshire... No
Scottish Borders.
Is this another one of your weird underground lairs you drop into conversation then never update us on @maccruiskeen
Commer Express and other models were car sized and related to Hillman Minx so not big vans. And they had column shift.
Can you be more precise with the location Josh? I'm in the Borders too and a buried van would be a good hunt, a bit different from the usual crashed planes

Yep head up burnside from Eddleston.
Just keep heading up and after a bit of a switchback there is an odd set of structures.
Be careful, not sure whats really there and there could well be a tank* underground so just watch where you put your feet.
*Not that kind.

They still fail thf flush door though.
It could be full of gold bullion!

Or boddies.
Why would you buy a car though? Its intentionals mounded rather than an infilled hole. Its intact in the sense that they would have known it would create a void.
Childrens den?
Henhouse ?

Ever seen Brassic? The gang of scallies hung out in some sort of underground void (and part time growhouse) at a farm, rather bigger than a Commer van admittedly.
Thanks. Will have a nosey one day
