[#3576180]

Contractors came round our street today with a cherrypicker.. They whipped off the original incandescent heads and replaced them with LED units. They've just switched on and I am getting all excited about how effective they will / won't be when it gets proper dark. They're 26 Watt jobbies.

Question is. Am I a sad nobber or is my interest justified ๐Ÿ˜ณ

Hopefully they will be more directional so cheaper to run and less spill to the sides. Double win. Dread to think how much they cost though...

Good spot - poor flood.

The street is generally darker. 4/10 for me. And they are bloody ugly. The light is very white too and a bit "alien?"

They should have given you at least 24 hours' notice so you could do before and after pics.

Sad as it is, I actually work in external lighting!!

Post up a daytime pic Derek and I'll tell you what lanterns they are.

The levels will be lower as its permissive to drop an S class using LED. Looks like a 6m column too, so it will be replacing a 50 - 70w sodium. Plus if tge LA are using remote monitering they might be dimming down out of hours too for further energy saving.

All just generically speaking obviously!!

I'm genuinely interested in who's they are and your feedback on them though!!

Great ๐Ÿ™‚ Now to start pestering my council to replace ours...I don't mind the street being lit up, but I don't need to be able to inspect my guttering at the same time.
