I've received a replacement bit of trim that's missing from the driver's door of my car. I'd assumed that it would just clip in to the holes in the door but the fixings don't seem to line up. Is it likely there are some clips or something that do the job? I don't really want to pull the other side off to see how it's done if it can be avoided!

2001/y clio - I've googled fairly extensively and can't find anything. Next step will be to buy a Haynes!

Ha! Put 'trim clip' in halfords search. These look about spot on

Since the trim tabs don't fit the same, but it doesn't need to come off again, you might as well either use heavy-duty double sided tape or an exterior grip fill type thing (being careful not to put so much on that it squeezes out and is on display).
Either way, sounds like you may need to modify the plastic trim to fit?
