A Vito 109 with 160 miles on the clock, and with some weird foot-operated hand-brake. Other than that, it's bike friendly and now life has gone from absolutely the worst it's ever been, it's now on the up.

just had to share my excitement at my new transport.

thanks!

join the club, had a VW transporter for years swapped to a Ford Transit Connect a few years back, better size for me, can get two bikes and all the "stuff" for riding in and use it for getting to and from work as well....ideal, well done you wont look back, in fact you will wonder in a few months how you ever managed without it.

Brill news. I have always thought it would be great to own a van but would probably still want to have a car as well. Must be brill just to be able to sling bikes in without faffing.

Vans are great. I'm still fancying another in a couple of years but the lure of a very special car is also rather strong.

Hmm...you got me thinking now, I've got a Passat estate, but it's only got 184K on the clock, however the Missus is needing something more economical & dog friendly than her Peugot 206 convertible thingy. So we could get her summink suitable for both of us & I could get a van!!
Yes a van, It's the future!

Cheers. Is that similar to what your insurance is on a car (as it's quite a lot more than I pay for car insurance)?

We ran Vitos on our fleet and they aren't proper Mercedes!!!

We had terrible problems with rust as mentioned above and the engines were dreadful. We had to have replacement cylinder heads on two vans because they couldn't get the injectors out as they had seized into the head.

They never ran as well afterwards either.

I've just had 2 of 3 VW transporter T5's turn up today. Just need a bit of tidying up and then I'll be selling them. Might keep one for myself though.

I really want a van but I've got no idea why. I have absolutely no reason to get one.

Don't forget the lower speed limits for vans on single and dual carriageway roads 🙂

phwoar, look at that twin door action! 😀

How much did the decal/signwriting/whatever the right word is cost you? Can you wash it just like normal without fear of it peeling off?

Thanks 😉 just got home in the 'ol girl after moving back home from sunny sheffield, not too far away but it's been ace! cabin a little on the compact side, but its a van and i've always experienced that problem (i'm 6'2") it handles well, shifts alright and the 6spd box is great!

As it's leased, any issues and its off back to the stealers. The boss likes it so much he's looking at one of the sport models with the runner boards on, and 204bhp! I'd have preferred a vw but that just my preference.

Bikes in the back next weekend as we'll be out starting from Hope (havent ridden for a good few months...(said life was sh*t!)

It handles differently to a car (obviously) but it doesn't feel as different as one might expect. I had a sprinter for a little while and that was a right 'ol bus. But the vito has a pretty decent turning circle, feels pretty good reversing using only side mirrors and the best thing is I get to leave half a plastic sandwich on the dash along with a half-drank bottle of lucozade 😉

you know it makes sense if you've been thinking about it 😉
