Was all over my honeysuckle today, stunning little creature, never seen one before, and it looks like they're fairly rare up here as well.

We were watching a couple of these hovering in and out of a huge bunch of lavender ( I think it was lavender) last summer in st astier in France. Lovely little things

I'd never seen one before but spotted one in Majorca earlier this year. They're amazing things.

Since seen one up in the Lake District as well so they're obviously spread far and wide

About 8 years ago we spotted one an hour before dusk. It was flitting about our buddleia bush.
It was really exciting, because at that time non were recorded this far up north.

Had a couple in my garden in whitby about 8 years ago, after the honeysuckle. Haven't seen any since. Captivating creatures, almost like a little bird.

We used to get them on our flowers every evening during the summer when we lived in Italy. Amazing little insects. Really interesting to hear that they're over here as well.

Had one in my garden last year (Glasgow). Did the classic “eh..... that can’t be a hummingbird?!” before finding out what it was. Didn’t realise you could report them either

Ah yes! I remember now - Verona this time 2 years ago, probably to the day, saw them feeding on a hanging basket on a restaurant terrace overlooking the river. Inches from us and beautiful little insects.

Found one in on a sign in the foyer at YHA Edale on Sunday evening. Didn't seem like a great place for it to be so carefully moved to some honeysuckle outside. Never seen one before!
