Thinking of getting a Desire and changing to 3 as they seem to have a good deal at the moment- 500 minutes, 500 texts, and 1GB data for £25/mont, 24 month contract.
Are there any meaningful differences between any of the networks? I'm on o2 at the mooment and for some reason their offers are much more expensive- is there a reason for this?
if you sign up via topcashback.co.uk you can swipe £107 cash back along the way:

One thing to note - 02 has the least 3G coverage and Three has the greatest 3G coverage and a free roaming agreement with Orange for 2G.
Try ringing O2 up and see what they will offer. I upgraded to a HTC Wildfire on T-mobile & the missus wanted the Desire. O2 shop offer was £40 but T-mobiles was £30, rang O2 & got the same package that T-mobile were offering. Only 500meg of data as opposed to the 2gb that i'm getting though.
It is buyer apathy - like car insurance...existing customers get a higher fee as the theory is it is easier to stay and pay the extra rather than shop around and move...
Go elsewhere as it will be cheaper.
I'm on £25/month on Vodafone - 300 minutes/unlimited text and unlimited data (well unlimited in the sense I can't seem to use it all for what I use my mobile network for). I use about 280 mins a month on talk the rest is playing with the phone - works out fine for me.
My mate got a HTC Desire on t-mobile for £10 month for 24 months check it out unlimited texts and internet with a few hundred minutes too. Oh and its completely ajustable too
