This is my view of the lakes from my work in Blackpool, so looking more or less directly north towards the bottom (south) of the lakes.

Can anyone identify the items from this terrible photo?

1. Behind the white windmill thing

2. Big one in the middle

3.  On the right behind the lamppost

That's a nice pastime in central Scotland looking north on a very clear visibility day

From East Lomond in Fife you can see down to St Abbs lighthouse maybe the Farne islands all the way up to the Cairngorm high tops then West quite far  towards Ben Lomond then the easy Munro's like Schiehallion ,Ben Lawyers Ben Vorlich Stuc a Chroin Ben Chonzie Ben Doonagin

One is definitely bound to be Old Man of Coniston being the highest most southerly and quite apart from others.

You can see Blackpool tower from Grange fell on a clear day.

To the left of the big green tree on the left of the pic I can also see black combe, the one day I went up there it wasn't quite clear enough to see back to the tower

The Peakfinder app is great for this sort of thing. I think it costs a couple of quid but I've definitely had my moneys worth out of it.

Yep, Buck Pike and Brown Pike hidden to the left. We have a fantastic view of the Coniston fells from the other side of the Leven estuary.

I think you may be wrong there. Black Combe is a fair way to the left. Beyond the scope of the photo.

Yeah I reckon Black Combe would be well off to the left

I believe its

Dow Crag

Old Man

Wetherlam

and for bonus points:

the peak just to the right of Old Man is Swirl How (almost like there's a visible col)

the peak to the left of Wetherlam and on top of the bush is Black Sails (the best non Wainwright top in the Lakes IMO)

Where was the RSPCA

That memorable day,

When Cortez, the stoutest of his men,

Stood silent, on a Peak, in Darrien

It's easy to waste hours in this site (you can get latitude and longitude by dropping a pin into OS maps and paste into the coordinates box at the top left).
