As above, I am on call this weekend and my wife is off to a wedding reception so we are having one of my receptionists from work over to babysit.
She loves kids and will probably object to us paying her but how much is right for 4 hours?
£30 maybe?

have you asked her? if she will refuse get her something as a thank you gift chocolates, flowers you know stuff girls like?
just read that again. your receptionist is coming over while your wife is away? sounds like trouble!
Ooh, best make sure she's had a CRB check done, all yer liability insurance is up to date, all paperwork done, etc etc...
How about some flowers/chocolates/beauty salon vouchers type thing? Bit more personal than money, and won't cause as much embarrassment hopefully.
Haven't asked her but I have worked with her for years. I am sure if my wife was to pay her she would accept. Otherwise as you say it's flowers and/or Vodka!
