Looking at having to renew a boundary fence.

It is roughly 45 metres long and I would to put 4 foot picket type fencing.

I really don't fancy doing it myself but I might have to to save cash.

Does anyone have any idea what sort of cost to get a fencing contractor to do the work>

I was quoted £30 per m for a 6ft double strapped fence. That was concreting the posts aswell. I was told that getting a 4ft wouldnt be much, if any cheaper.

About £200 a day + materials in Yorkshire - get a decent local trader with mechanised equipment (ie a post whacker) and they will bang it up in a couple of days max I'd say.

I had a guy help me remove my old fencing/hedges/wall etc and he was £200 a day including his mini digger BTW.

My brother, neighbour and father in law helped do the fencing (simple post and 4 bar rail) approx 48' in total and it took us two days with manual tools (dry driving posts into the ground *without* pre-dug holes, concrete, metal spikes etc).

I have been quoted about £1200 +vat.

That's in the South East so it isn't that bad, especially if there is a couple of days work in it.
