Moving house over the weekend and we're wanting to give the house a good cleaning before we move our stuff in. We're going to hire a carpet cleaner but does anyone know how long it'll take for the carpets to dry out?

Usually get an answer for everything on here! ๐Ÿ˜€

depends on the thickness but using a decent carpet cleaner I think they say about 2-4 hours but I would say 4-6 hours. We left stuff overnight though just in case, especially wooden furniture that might not like any damp going up into them.

I'd agree with the above.

a Dehumidifier and turning the central heating up high will help.

If you walk on even damp carpets in outdoor shoes it'll look worse than when you started.

Those hospital type overshoes might let you move stuff roudn a bit before they're bone dry?

Hospital booties are a good call. We're going to tidy the house friday and do the carpets on the fri night. The bulk of our stuff will be moved on the sat so that should give the carpets plenty of time to dry out. Just worried about it pissing down on sat when we do move.
