We will be in touch
We have a wireless router which the laptop and PS3 run off of, we also have a desktop that is too far away from the router. What do I need to buy to make the desktop talk to the router?
USB wireless adaptor or install a PCI wireless card.
Ta, I take it this will do:

as long as you have a spare PCI slot and don't mind opening your PC up.
take it out from under the desk
turn it round
pull all the wires out and bin 'em
ta da!! it's now wireless

I just use a USB wireless dongle - dead easy ( does use one USB slot though which can be a pain)
Firstly what type of router are you using this will either be an 802.11n or g.
n good / g ok
if you have n then you might as well get a card or USB that supports this both will work, n is quicker.
Then make sure whatever you get USB or card works with your os, loads of older USB sticks don't work with windows 7....
Just remember that USB wireless is heavier than inbuilt wireless so the PC has to be higher up than the router otherwise all the wireless bits run down the stairs and collect in the corner.
