I'm a complete luddite and don't have a clue, but I downloaded Spotify to drown out the noise of by boss and am a bit surprised that I haven't had to listen to any adverts yet.
I thought that's how they pay for it unless you get premium.
Have I got premium...
How do I tell if I'm going to be landed with a fat bill at the end of the month?

Ooh. Just looked under settings and it says FREE ACCOUNT.
And s button underneath that says GET PREMIUM
so I guess as long as o don't click that button then I'll be fine....
So how do they make money then?

There are some adverts, but not too many. Maybe they are less frequent at first, so you get used to it.
