We've won a trip to Italy, id be quite happy to "phrase book" it as a rule, but the prize involves a trip to the local vineyard who are providing the whole thing. I'd like to at least be polite and be able to hold a half arsed conversation!!! Ten weeks tomorrow btw!!!

Start with English, it's pidgin not pigeon. 😉
Pigeon Italian is "coo-a".

Right. I figured someone who really knew would say, but as not... We have friends who moved to France and they did all their learning on the BBC language site: http://www.bbc.co.uk/languages/italian/ (not this one, obvs). It's got an 'Italian in 12 weeks' link, FWIW!
