Is there a way to get a radio programme off i-player and onto my i-pod? (It's not available as a podcast)

Dont think so. The content on iplayer is copy/piracy protected. I watch iplayer on my PS3 and I've looked into ways of saving content to its HD and also on the laptop…….so far without success. Its probably do-able with some sort of downloadable, paid for software…..wether its legal or not, i dunno.

Mac or PC? I use Audio Hijack for stuff like that on a Mac. Pro version costs though.

There are some sites you can get torrents, depending on what it is, eg https://themixingbowl.org/

I presume audacity still works and it's free. Have a Google search as there should be a few guides about using it.

That pu-ru ruby script only works if the iplayer episode is available for smart phones I think. It pretends it's self as a smart phone then downloads a different file to the one you get streamed when you watch / listen normally.

As of 10th December 2010, this program no longer works. Find out why.
Shame - used to work really well 🙁

Something like Audio Hijack or Wiretap, record it as you listen through and save as an Mp3. Remember that these apps record streaming audio, so any noise that your computer makes while recording, like mouse clicks or incoming emails will also record. Easiest way to do it; works for live music sessions, too. Very handy.
