We will be in touch
Buying a house with some tenants in (we currently live in a tied house with job) so we have a fallback.
It seems like ages since we viewed and made an offer.
Mortgage sorted, offered and we've signed docs.
Tenancy sorted for tenants. Surveys done and reports back, no issues.
We've just got a letter from the solicitors with a pre contract report and a contract to sign but not date as yet which we need to send back signed on Monday.
New to this game, what happens next? No chain our end or sellers end. What are the next steps and how close are we to completion?

We also have a land registry transfer of whole of registered titles form to sign and and send back.

Typically once contracts are signed and exchanged you will agree a completion date with the vendors through your respective solicitors. Then you'll have a date set in stone, more or less.
Make sure that the tenants weren't there before 15/1/89 - opens up a whole world of pain around protected tenancies under the old Rent Acts and I'm fed up of dealing with irate landlords whose solicitors didn't check!
Ask your solicitor to sort the date, that's their job. Typically though most sales go through a week to ten days after exchange of contracts so get packing!
Mortgage valuation done? Results from solicitor's searches back?
I'm told it takes 8-10 weeks start to finish at the moment, but that will depend how much you lean on the mortgage & solicitors companies to hurry up.
Cheers all. Think we're close but yep, things stall as soon as you stop nagging/ hassling......
