Thinking of driving to the alps for skiing this year and as the chalet we are staying in is a sunday to sunday arrangement I'm thinking of staying in a hotel in or around Moutiers on the saturday night before driving up to Les Arcs on sunday morning. This would give us a sneaky extra day skiing.
So, where to stay? I think there is a cheap as chips F1 in albertville but they can be a bit ropey.

Has anyone got any expereince of etap hotels? Looks like one step up from an F1 (ie you get an en-suite)
Hotel petit st Bernard in bour st ma. Close to station and main lift to arc 1600. Excellent food. I've stayed there for the exact reasons as you.
There is an aire on the Autoroute between Albertville and Moutiers, have stayed in the no name motel there several times, cheap, clean and always semm to have vacancies when all the local Formula 1, Etape etc are sold out.
