Eurotunnel tomorrow morning 10.20. So it's either the Premier inn at the terminal, looks nice £75, or a luxury hotel in Farnborough 1.5 hours away, fairly close to the route from Cardiff to Folkestone, for free.

I would go close as it will just be easier in the morning and you know you will definetly be there.
75 miles away means what 2 hrs before departure to be sure??? so you are leaving 8:00 ish anyway.
Safety first IMHO + no rushed breakfast
If the big move is someone else not picking up the tab? if you £75 is hardly here or there in the cost i assume
