Ok, it's summer, it's baking hot, the other staff are on annual leave and we have a very casual dress code.
But my female admin assistant is walking round in a tee shirt and a thong! 😯

What are you allowed to wear at work?

Rich is in court tomorrow. Unless the Lord Chancellor gives the nod, they still have to wear their jackets.

Nice and cool in my office. Good old sandstone walls. Stepping out of the door is like getting off the plane on holiday!

the bus driver look is in at our office. Air con is keeping it bareable, but only just, its struggling with the humidity, and sounds like a jet engine outside (its a big office)!

Shorts and a tee shirt, I am the boss, so I can get away with this stuff. Couple of the women I employ are not unattractive, (no, I'm not going to, and anyway they're both part time and have gone home), and next door is the office of the Engineering firm who's workshop is round the corner, all nice fellas, but it is simply amazing how they seem to just happen to pass my offices so much more often on hot sunny days....

We don't have a dress code! My boss is wearing his painting jeans and fishing T-Shirt today, he's off fishing at 5.

Unfortunately there are no women here. 👿

I'm in 3/4 shorts, T-shirt and crappy trainers. I'm sweating my ass off, despite having the aircon unit 2 feet away from me, a tower fan the other side, and a 9" fan on my desk.. All are pointing at me, and I'm still bloody hot, temp unit says 29°C in my aircon'd office!

Then when I get in my car it will be even worse, I have dark leather heated seats which are constantly on.. Must look in Haynes manual for the fuse location.

Not that I'm moaning or anything... 😆

Shorts and tee but I am a designer (and run the business) so doubly allowed to.

And the brother-in-law is cooking a BBQ tonight round at the inlaws. Mmm, burnt food and beer.

PedalHead 33°C... Surely there is a law against working in those conditions, we do live in a nannied country. 🙂

Only if I can take myself to court :-). Converted a barn into a home office last year & decided not to install air-con, whilst going seriously overboard on insulation!

no upper limit, just a vague burble about thermal comfort and the workplace being suitable with adjustments made when the weather hots up.

Over 35 in my office this morning when I got in!

Not helped by an air con unit broken in our computer room and the vent outside my office!

Zyme shorts, t shirt and some trainers, boony hat and sunnies. Just walked back from town and I'm dripping. Stopped for a pint on the way home too. Think it's time to siesta!

Will be spending the weekend empytying my flat and loading it into a big white van, prepping the move to Oz.

Same as cold weather dress code: suit and tie.

As with other modern office buildings, this place is the same temperature every day of the year.

I believe it's nice out....

Common misconception about office temps, there's a minimum level but no upper level, the Factories and Offices Act, or something equally thrilling sounding...

Shops and offices act. Funnily enough hospitals come under the factories act IIRC

Ok, nose bleed now under control and can still type with the three remaining fingers, may be tricky to reach the phone without anesthetic though!

Laughed out loud at that Uplink, which caused her to look at what caused it and then triggered the ensuing violence. Fortunately I came to work in the VW camper which will be my home for the next few night at least! 😆

Never could see the rationale for dress codes, as long as people are comfortable and they do not cause offence to others in the office I do not see a problem. You are correct re upper temp limit, it can get as hot as it wants and there is no statutory obligation to do anything. Did some work for a large welfare to work company in Sheff a few years ago and they had people working in double stacked portacabins with no aircon and one water cooler between dozens of them. Needless to say we worked in our offices as much as possible.

No dress code here (being an academic help). But I am wearing 3/4 tshirt and flipflop...
Just got for a ride during lunch... Temperature was around 33-34°C 😀

Just measured the temp in our workshop and its 41.4 deg C !!!

The south facing side is mostly glass with one tiny window (nice one Mr building designer)

Not only that as we are based at a food factory its full protective kit including hairnet & hard hat which means you have a constant stream of sweat running out from your head.
Then to add insult the mill is even hotter with all the machinery belting out heat,

I've broken ranks among the male populace in our office and worn shorts (and T)for the first time to work today.

Think the rest of 'em will follow suit (sic!) tomorrow 😀

I work in a quarry office, so everyone else is forced to wear hard hat, trousers, reflective kit etc. I get to wear what I like, so I'm well into my 6-8 months per year of shorts and sandals, but I tend to wear a casual shirt too, rather than a T. Got a lovely cool Patagonia one on toady, all the doors and windows open. It's actaully rather plesent, apart from the dust from outside
🙂

oh god yeah wish we had a summer dress code, but unfortunately its the same regardless of season, dark thick trousers, black shoes and heavy tunic.... and old people dont seem to care how hot it is when they want their vein/circulation aiding stockings on!!

Linen culottes or full length trousers, cool linen or cotton top.
Flat leather pumps or wedge sandals.

Cool and comfortable without showing acres of flesh (well actually square metres!! 😉 ) or half a yard of next week's dirty washing. 8)

My summer dress code is the same as it's been at the last three firms I've worked at: shorts and t-shirt from March thru October, 'cos that's I want to wear, and nobody else really gives a toss.

You'll need to do some extensive testing on the ice cream machine sturmey, can you possibly bring it round to my place of work so I can test it for you?

Today is Aloha Friday, so me and the MD are in shorts, reefs and Hawaiian shirts. We clash very nicely.

Really wish we were allowed to wear shorts at work, so hot in our factory and the heating is on full all the time in my section too. Can get very uncomfortable and sweaty around vital areas, high risk of chaffage too not good when your stuck there for 8 hours a shift.
