Reduced turbulence through the fork and in-line with riders legs. That probably has a boundary layer effect too as the air passes around the legs. Rear stays are completely hiden by the rider.
Makes the NZ bike look out of date already. Bit like their rugby 😀

Love this. I've done a few bike holidays with Tony Purnell - fascinating bloke, very good rider too. Sold his company to Ford, was team principal at Jaguar F1, consultant to FIA, professor of engineering at Cambridge. The BC role was perfect for him!
