Hello!
Picked up some TRX straps from Aldi for a tenner (they have lots of home workout stuff in just now).
I've used them a bit in the gym - pistol squats and pullups etc, but not too clued up on the possibilities.
Does anyone have any good links for workout videos or anything? Mostly looking at trying to keep up some strength from normal weightlifting now that the gyms are closed.
Ta!
There's a trx app.
Can be a bit shouty Americans but....
Also interested in this, had an Aldi one unused in the cupboard for about four years.
Might help me get over my mental block for strength workouts at home.
Same here - cheapo one from Decathlon - also looking for a good place to hang it from - I'm scared I will pull the door frames down if I start putting all my weight on them 🙁
I bought the Decathlon cheapo ones before Christmas. They're good.
Not really used them yet, did some pistol squats, which hurt a lot! They allow you to really get deep on those
Loads of stuff on YouTube. TRX's Instagram account also has some routines/exercises. There are also some poster available from Amazon - the official TRX jobbies are silly expensive.
I did the official trainer course a year or so ago and love them (Also the Rip trainer). My advice beyond finding some routines is to look for a proper overhead anchor point. Buy a knock off X mount and screw it into a beam if your ceiling is high enough. Or go outside and use a sturdy branch 8-9 ft off the ground. Massively increases the quality of the workout over the silly door anchors.
Actually, thinking about it again, you are a mountain biker - it's compulsory to do it outside, ideally with a view! Whilst I do have anchor points I way prefer to sling it in a bag, walk to a great location and do a routine there. It turns a pretty average alternative to a commercial gym into a positively better experience to a commercial gym (imo).
