Going to a Villa in Pezenas with the folks at the start of July for 5 days (and to catch the TDF TT in Montpellier). Mrs Amosridl and I are then looking for a week on our own either on the coast or round to the Costa Brava. I know there are a few folks on here in this area, anybody got any recommendations for a nice sandy beach, decent enough night life (not 18-30's style largin' it, just enough to keep you busy) and not silly expensive.
Nice would be perfect but the beach looks pebbly so that's out.
Looked at Blanes, Rosas but I fear they may be a bit quiet and aimed at older couples.

Not if you know where to look, Cannes as sandy beach and it's only a short journey buy train, same goes for Passable just nearer.
And riding is wicked (proper riding none of this road non sense) even from the city centre.
Plus who want sand when you can have pebble ๐
Wife doesn't like it in her pants Juan ๐
Cannes looks great but a bit expensive. Passable looks lovely nice find.
Cheers.
What about La Grande Motte area or is that a bit quiet?

Never been there. But bear in mind that the cote d'azur is just invaded by the scum of the earth (tourists) during summer.
Everywhere. Pus be prepared at being ashamed by your fellow brits. You could try to get an accomodation in Grasse or mouans-sartoux and commute to the beach by train. Will save you
time to drive
time to park
and the assle to the mention above driving.
On the plus side mouans sartoux is quite a nice little village.
Cheers Juan.

Sounds awful.
Think I might go for the Cannes end and take the credit card.

Platinium I take it ๐
If you bring your bike let me know
Mandelieu-la-Napoule is nice - near Cannes airport. Nice marina, but not much nightlife.
St Raphael & Frejus are nice too - probably a bit more nightlife as well, although we stayed out in the suburbs so didn't get to see the town at night. St Tropez is a pain to get to
On the Costa Brava, Roses is nice - big sandy beach. Plenty of shops & restaurants but only went there on day trips, as we were staying in Santa Pau deep in the hills near Olot.
