Does anybody know any decent insurance companies who cover your own bike abroad ?

I can't think of anyone who offers that kind of cover off the top of my head. Generally home insurance will cover your bike if you have the appropriate level of cover, world wide all risks. You could ring your home insurance company and ask them, they may offer you extended cover.
