Words fail me. How could anyone ever justify deliberately running down a bike with a Landrover? Awful, absolutely awful.

It's a horrific crime, the reports on the local TV news made it seem even more insane than it is.

My thoughts were that if she was riding pillion it might be a Suron or similar rather than a regular ebike,  but that is more another annoyance at the reporting of these things.

I picked up on the e-bike/e-motorbike thing as well. Sadly, hit and runs aren't a rare occurance................

Whatever the bike involved; the deliberate targeting is scary but it makes me wonder why they were targeted?

Drugs? Because it’s a bike? What had happened prior to this outcome?

It was probably an e-motorbike. The driver may even have been pissing around. The driver still deliberately assaulted them and killed one, seriously injured the other. I hope they get caught and spend a significant amount of time in prison for it.

That's not a "normal" hit and run.

They were targeted.

My guess is that it will be drugs related.

Still absolutely horrible.

I know this is an exceptional occurrence but this has rattled me up a bit. I do my best to avoid riding my bike on the road at the best of times because I always feel so vulnerable.

I wouldn’t worry too much @Ambrose . There were two of the “electric bikes”, one of them two up, eight o’clock at night. It sounds like they’d been pursued from near a pub for some distance and were known to the pursuing vehicle, i.e. not random? Whilst a tragic incident where someone has died and another lost a leg, it doesn’t sound like anti-cyclist road rage.

Granted, and thank you. The impatient driving of some around here worries me especially on the main road along the A474, the Amman valley road. Perhaps it's just my current mood, dunno really.
