Desktop speakers have been replaced and they really are too big to sit on my small desk. Have been considering putting them on floor stands but the top plates would be too big. Speakers are 10cm wide and 14cm depth. The only option I've seen is custom made and I ain't got the budget for that. I know that replacing the desk for a bigger one could be an option but would prefer to avoid that.
Any ideas please?
Two small shelves or wall brackets?
If you are planning on sitting them on the floor I'd get bigger speakers that fit on proper stands. Go all in! 🙂
Or look on FB Market Place or eBay for surround sound satellite speaker stands that take a smaller speaker.

Knew I could rely on you folk! Looks as though their weight will be OK, however there isn't any fixings in the back of them so would need to sit on the top plate unsecured. Not sure whether that will be an issue so will investigate. Have bigger speakers downstairs but these are for my Youtube addiction! Thanks all.
Can you use something like a monitor stand to put them on, as it's raised you keep some storage/desk space under them?

If the top-plate is flat, then a 1cm sphere of blu-tac in each corner with the speaker pushed down hard will mean they stay put.
Have you looked at ISO Acoustics? They do dinky (and expandable) speaker stands amongst other things which give a fair degree of flexibility over how tall the stands are.

I used to use a pair of ikea stands.
these were the kind that you mounted (drilled) into the wall for bulky 14” crt (old skool) tv’s.
if your funds could stretch to a pair of q acoustic speakers, I remember that they offered a wall bracket as an optional accessory.

My old speaker wall mounts are a sort of clamp affair, so you have a 'top plate' as you describe but then a back bracket that you nip up behind the speaker.
What are the speakers made from, can you screw into them?
You could a couple of L-Brackets per speaker. Screw the bracket to the wall, rest the speaker on the bracket and screw the speaker to the brackets to stop it falling off?
There were some floor standing speaker stands at the Oxfam music store on Byres rd, if that’s handy.
I’ve still got my old HiFi system from back in the 80’s, the speakers are a pair of fairly large Trio 3-way cabinets, sat on Foundation stands. The stands are filled with a mixture of lead shot and sand, with spikes in the bottom plate to dig into floorboards, and to help keep them steady on a concrete floor. The speakers have blobs of blu-tak under each corner. I can promise you, kicking the edge of the bottom plate without shoes on results in a great deal of hopping around cussing quietly under your breath.
They don’t move.
There are similar types of stand designed to take smaller types of speaker, Sanus is one, they do stands to take 5.1 surround speakers, I’m sure there are lots of other options, do a search for 5.1 surround speaker stands, which should throw up a fair number which might be useful.
