A friend of mine has to have a herniagram in 2 weeks as he is currently in a lot of pain following from a hernia op a year ago. What is involved? Anyone had it done? Any after effects?
I am giving him a lift and would like to understand what he will be going through.

Not a biggy, inject some contrast, xrays (radiation dose small compared to MRI), probably a short wait after the treatment to ensure no adverse reaction to the contrast.

As above and a lot less of a pain than a hernia op! I took myself there and back on the bus so it's nothing too invasive.
