Update
Livia has been back to the vets today, and received “a clean bill of health”. She’s managed to regain most of the weight lost (while Claude was eating all the food).

Hooray!! Well done Esme, grand job!
My Mrs, (yes, that one) has decided she wants a Birman ( I still want another Red Fox Lab)
Have you seen the price of Birmans???

Credit where it's due . . . it's mainly Mr E who's tamed them. He seems to be a natural Cat Whisperer. And Claude still treats him like an Adventure Playground.

ESG - you'll end up with a cat and a dog, won't you?

Is that a William Morris print sofa?

Haha - "Golden Lily" by John Henry Dearle, Morris's assistant
Curtains, not sofa, made by my own fair hand

They are beautiful looking cats, I especially like Claude. I life with a Cat Whisperer too....his name is Steve and the way Sparky always goes to him (even when I'm stood with her food in my hand) is really annoying.

I miss Jester, he preferred me to Steve !

Is Sparky okay on her own, or does she miss Jester too?  Are you planning to get another one?

Apparently no-one wants black kittens these days - they don't look so good in photos!

Beautiful cats! There would be a scrap for the Dreamiest with the hedgehogs in my garden, though. 😁

Yeah, lovely thread.

Lovely to hear you've put some effort into taking on these two wonderful looking cats (I'm not a cat person, at all)

But with the genuine advice, and your obvious skills and love, its a fantastic story from beginning.... and towards a long loving future.

(we should have a like button in here, it's 2019.. not 2009)

👍

Cats are like that. Seek them out and they dont want anything to do with you but ignore them and they become interested.
I was going to suggest lie on your back in the middle of the floor and the cat will come over, sit on your chest and claim you as its latest lucky find.
