Currently doing a series of posters for a client with the theme being 'Don't let yourself be tailgated' (ie, when walking through a door, don't let the person following through unless they have identification).
Thinking 'letting foxes in chicken coups', 'stable door/horse bolted' type metaphors at the moment but has anyone got any other similar metaphors (or sayings) that would be appropriate.
Many thanks in advance.
I'm assuming pron metaphors wouldn't go down so well...I can think of a few...
Oh, I'm so funny...
Seriously, I'll have a think...
1 guy 1 cup ?
Possibly not - my client is a bit conservative like that. 🙂

Ok, so I'm thinking a car tailgating another through a red traffic light and getting flashed? Or, being tailed as in "I think those guys in the brown car are tailing us"...something like that. Sorry, this is why mrs deadly does the designering and not me
GrahamS, sorry, but busy over t'weekend, will drop you a line tonight
I'd be tempted to go more obvious:
"Close the door on unwelcome guests"
"Don't let unwelcome guests get a foot in the door"
Going to be far easier/less ambiguous to illustrate with either bespoke or stock imagery.
KISS.

Ah right, maybe the whole bogus gas-meter reader thing...make sure you use the security chain thing? "You wouldn't let this dodgy geezer in without checking his i.d. would you?"
Watch your back.
"Behind Yoouuu" in a panto kind of way.
There's got to be something involving following though 😕
It is in hospital environment, not doorstepping at home - but some good ideas - especially like the Panto one.
Aren't you the one who is supposed to be thinking up the ideas 😆
Aren't you the one who is supposed to be thinking up the ideas
One did fight the temptation...
