Hi all,
Bit of a random request, I'm helping a colleague at work put on a charity pub quiz (help for heroes) on Thursday 24th. We've got the venue etc sorted, but need to hire a PA system (the pub doesn't have one).
Does anyone know of somewhere *cheap* to hire a PA from near Uxbridge? The cheapest I've found so far was £65 + VAT. If anyone happens to work for a hire shop and wants to give me a quote, then we can bring the kit back first thing on Friday so it'd be available to hire again for the weekend.

You want cheaper than £65! That sounds a bargain to me. The only way you'll get it cheaper is if someone does it for free on the back of free plugs for their generous kit donation all night.

Does the bar not even have a music system you can plug into? You could buy a cheep second hand mixer (berigher is OK) and mic (senheiser are as good as shure, but cheeper) and plug it into the back of their amp (assuming they have one and its not just a hi-fi with the speekers hung above the bar).
Ah, fair enough. Never hired one before, figured 65 was a bit steep for an evenings hire of two speakers, a mixer and a mike.
