downloaded and installed Gimp on my windows vista PC, it starts up okay and some of the editing tools work but whenever i try and do anything to the colour composition (light, colour balance etc) of the photo windows shuts the program down.
Anyone any ideas as to why this is happening, i installation website says it's compatible with vista

I know this is an obvious reply but do make sure their box is padlocked when not in use, you don't want them escaping and frightening the neighbours.
Havnt had that happen on 32 or 64 bit, use it as intended on linux 😛
Try and download again and reinstall.
And if it is repeateable, submit a bug report.
