I'm looking for a radio for my mum, needs to be FM (for battery life), have presets (so no hassle of tuning) run on batteries (so it can be carried around) be compact-ish and heave reasonable sound.

Seems there's little around...any ideas?

roberts have loads of classically styled FM radios

some have presets, nice big knobs for ease. And FM wont chew batteries.

If you really love your mum, buy her a Roberts.
The ones in the link are analogue.

Loads of their DAB radios still have an FM option.

Aldi do a quite nice one, if you don't love her quite that much.

EDIT, beaten to it!

Oh, I've got one of these , a Roberts leather covered Jaguar limited edition.

Just googled it so see how much they go for, a thousand Euros seems a bit steep!
Paid £70.00 for mine.
Feeling generous though so you can have it for £500.00. 🙂

ta gents but I'm afraid I'm on a lemonade budget for a number of reasons, not least that it may end up in a cupboard - particularly if it's got a big footprint, as she has very limited space to keep things close to her (and can't get around herself)
