Hi, got a security light to fit I know a while ago the regs stopped you even changing a plug just wondering what the current state of play is.

Depends on what you need to do to fit it I believe - rules are not as strict outside of a kitchen or bathroom.
If it was me I would just fit it (assuming you have access to undated cable).
