I've never been but I'm lead to understand there are a great many places offering this facility.

You need to try the most powerful handgun in the world for sure, either the S&W .50 or the insanely large .60 nitro express.

M2 and couple of boxes of ammo should do the trick. Make sure you've got some good targetry to destroy so you can see the effect.

+1 Barrett REC7 in 6.8 spec and a machine pistol just for the buzz, Ingram, Uzi or whatever they have. 😆

Find somewhere that will let you use a variety of arms against a variety targets, just so you can see how destructive even the puny ones are.
M2 HB for me, iconic.

I've been to The Gun Store, fired MP5, semi-auto shotgun, semi-auto rifle (think I got the Sig Sauer, but they have a few). Couple of friends did the coallition package where you get the big machine gun. It's all good fun. Mid afternoon can be very busy, we queued for an hour. Good instructors, used to tourists, let you take videos and pics, don't feel like you're being rushed. Go in a little group if you can otherwise it'll be over quickly. With a group you all fire in turn at a single bay so you get more time on the range.

Semi-auto with laser scope was very accurate, full-auto MP5 was a little harder to control. People firing the big machine gun were all over the place.

You can also select individual guns on top of/instead of the packages.

Wierdest thing was having to select the targets you shot at - I wasn't particularly keen on choosing the "human" ones (guy with a pistol, suicide bomber) so ended up killing various zombie Nazis.

T-shirt included in the packages!

Ask for a Phased plasma rifle in the 40-watt range.

Had a go at this when I was in Arizona, I have never laughed as much in my life! We had the Lee Enfield carbine, Glock 9mm(nice) and the .44 Magnum. The latter being particularly amusing due to the flames coming out of the barrel not so funny when firing due to the kickback from it.

AR15 and a Accuracy International Super Magnum in a .338 Lapua. More fun in firing a weapon you can control and hit the target with.

14" barrelled Desert Eagle in .50 cal.. That's gotta hurt.

I'd love to fire one of these if they have one:

TDE Automag - fires a wildcat cartridge, a necked down .30-06 with a 240 grain .44 bullet and lots of powder!

I went to a shooting range on a stag do in, ah, Krakow IIRC. Most fun I had was with a sniper rifle and a target the size of a gerbil somewhere in the next continent.

Made an entertaining change from my usual choice of ranged weaponry.

I'd go for GPMG, minimi, AK47, SA80, MP5, an open breech sub machine gun and a couple of auto pistols and any bolt action rifle

first two short burst fire the rest single shot if you want a chance of hitting something smaller than a barn door at a reasonable distance.

With the GPMG, about the only thing you'll hit is a barn door unless you're shooting at a crowd. The SA80 is a pussy cat, fairly accurate on auto when kneeling, very when on the deck, virtually no recoil

Arnie on the thread

although it depends what you call accurate, I presume you are dropping fig 11/12's out to 300m on full auto with all rounds registering with the SA80 and you are waving the GPMG from the hip 😉

Like the one Blain had in Predator?

Sounds like a tradition, or an old charter, or something.

Magnum 44, so I could pretend to be Dirty Harry.

Uzi 9mm, so I could pretend to be Arnie.

AK47, so I could pretend to be a gangsta rapper.

went to http://www.thegunstorelasvegas.com/ and fired a whole heap of weapons during a geology field trip...

the stand out pistols were the .44 mag, desert eagle, and an old snub nose.

as for the semi autos and automatics were the ak (had to be done) the Browning and the unreal Heckler-Koch MG43 that was noisy and cost a fortune in bullets but well worth it..

go for the magnum then any of the autos.

I hope this isn't going to turn into some sort of running gag.

New guns are reaaaaaalllly boring! Shot a good few and once you've shot one you've shot 'em all. Shooting off hundreds of rounds on full auto is also quite possibly the most boring thing I've ever done!

The last rifle I really enjoyed shooting was an old WW2 issue (I think anyway, that's what I was told....) Lee-Enfield 303, really cool trying to fire off rounds accurately/quickly.
